Schools Will Remain Closed Through the End of the 2019–2020 School Year

Schools will remain closed flyerPer the governor, Cobb Schools will remain closed through the end of the 2019–2020 school year.

We have been committed to keeping our community updated about the rapidly developing situation with COVID-19. Throughout the process, we have relied on guidance from the Georgia Department of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as our state leaders.

In accordance with Governor Kemp’s guidance and to best prioritize student and staff safety, Cobb Schools will remain closed through the end of the 2019–2020 school year. Per executive order from Governor Kemp on April 1, 2020, all public schools and colleges in the state of Georgia will be closed through May. 

Digital learning will not occur over spring break which is from April 6 through April 10.

Food distribution will continue over spring break at all designated sites across Cobb County on Monday, April 6.

Further academic guidance will be made available by the end of the day on Thursday, April 2.

Dual Enrollment Information

Changes are coming for the 2020–2021 school year.  Please be sure to visit GaFutures for everything you need to know about the program. New changes are in HB444. GaFutures is the site to apply for the funding application and complete the Student Participation Agreement. All students, including already enrolled students, will have to do the SAP on GaFutures.

The next dual enrollment parent/student information meeting will be on August 20 at 7:45 a.m. in the Future Shop. We do require attendance for all NCHS students (and their parents) interested in enrolling in a dual enrollment program for the 2020–2021 school year. There will be additional meetings if you are unable to attend the August meting. Please read our dual enrollment letter for more information, or contact Ms. Young.


ACT has canceled the April 4 test date. They are rescheduling those students to either the June 13 or July 18 test dates.

Food Pantries Open to Public

MUST Ministries will be operating 29 food pantries inside Cobb Schools to distribute boxes of food to families in need. For more details, please read the Cobbcast food pantry article.

Graduation Information

The commencement ceremony for the Class of 2020 will be at the Kennesaw State University Convocation Center on Saturday, May 23, 2020, at 2:30 p.m. Please visit the graduation page for more information.
