School Clinic
Our clinic exists to protect and improve the health of North Cobb students through education and consultation.
Administration of Medication
Certain health problems require that students take medication during school hours. Prescription medication must be kept in the health office at all times.
- All medication must be in the original, properly labeled container.
- Prescription medication must have the pharmacy label attached, as this serves as the doctor’s order.
- A parental-signed consent form giving specific directions for use must accompany all prescription medications.
- Over-the-counter medications do not require a signed consent form.
Students with Severe Allergies
With parent permission, students with severe allergies may carry and self-administer an inhaler or EpiPen that has the proper labeling. Please sign a Permission to Carry form, and help us encourage students to report to an adult or the clinic after using an EpiPen.
Illness Policy
Please keep all ill students (those with a fever over 99.6 degrees fahrenheit) at home. Your student may return to school once his/her temperature falls below 99.6 degrees without fever-reducing medication for 24 hours.
If you student becomes ill while at school, we will make him or her as comfortable as possible in our clinic and contact you (or another authorized emergency contact). We ask that you pick your student up within one hour. If your student has a fever of 104 degrees or higher and we cannot reach your or a designated emergency contact, we will call 911.
Please ensure your family’s emergency contact numbers are up to date in ParentVUE.
Immunization Information
We will notify parents of continuing students by mail if your child needs additional immunizations before the new school year. State law requires students to complete all required immunizations before school starts. Students who cannot provide proof of required immunizations will not be allowed to attend school or ride the bus on the first day of classes. Please submit immunization updates to the school office.
